Windstream hosts nationwide school supply drive for students

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., July 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Windstream (NASDAQ:WIN), a leading provider of advanced network communications, announced today that a back-to-school supply donation drive will take place July 16 through Aug. 17. Windstream retail stores will serve as a drop-off point to collect donated school supplies and other classroom materials.

As the new school year approaches, the National Retail Federation estimates that families will spend an average of $674 on needed back-to-school supplies and clothing.

“Windstream is committed to giving back to the communities we serve,” said Jeff Auman, senior vice president of consumer and small and medium-sized business sales at Windstream. “This school supply drive will provide many less fortunate children with the essential supplies they need to be successful in school.”

Students’ and teachers’ wish lists include baic school supplies, such as paper, crayons, scissors, pencils, pens, glue, markers, folders and erasers, as well as other items used in classrooms every day, such as tissues and hand sanitizer.

As part of Windstream's continued involvement in the community, anyone that goes to a retail store during the school supply drive can enter to win a Chromebook 11. A donation is not required to enter the drawing.
