CompTIA IT Pro Appreciation Week Highlights the Critical Role Played by Technology ProfessionalsDOWNERS GROVE, Ill., July 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- CompTIA, the leading technology industry trade association, will acknowledge and thank tech workers around the globe for the contributions they make to business and industry with its second annual IT Pro Appreciation Week.
Technology professionals are invited to join CompTIA July 23 – 27 for contests, career advice and other activities. "Given the pervasiveness of technology throughout the economy and the near daily reminders of awe-inspiring innovation, we sometimes forget the people behind these technologies," said Todd Thibodeaux, president and CEO, CompTIA. According to Cyberstates™ 2018, CompTIA's annual analysis of the U.S. technology industry, tech employment expanded by nearly 200,000 jobs in 2017, to an estimated 11.5 million workers. Last year 38 states saw positive tech employment growth. Opportunities to work in tech still abound. During Q2 2018 employers across the U.S. had job postings for more than 760,000 core IT positions. Among the highlights of IT Pro Appreciation Week is a "Flip My Cube" contest. IT pros are eligible to win a work cube makeover. Contest entrants can post a picture of their current workspace on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram – with the hashtag #CompTIAFlipMyCube – by midnight (CDT) on July 29. Prizes will be awarded to the owners of the best decorated cubes, as judged by CompTIA staff.
