Scientific Learning Releases New Fast ForWord Program to Provide Smarter Interventions and Faster Progress for Struggling Readers and ELLs

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) emphasizes the use of evidence-based interventions to help schools improve outcomes for English language learners (ELLs), students who are economically disadvantaged, and those with disabilities. To provide schools with an evidence-based intervention that targets the root causes of language and reading struggles across diverse subgroups, Scientific Learning Corp. (OTC PINK:SCIL) announces the release of the Fast ForWord® Foundations I program.

The Fast ForWord Foundations I program, which is the new version of the flagship Fast ForWord Language program is just one of several improvements planned for the Fast ForWord family of products. This latest release includes an intelligent back-end engine that intuits when a student is struggling and provides just-in-time interventions personalized to each learner's strengths and weaknesses. With this SmartLearning Technology, educators can deliver smarter, more focused interventions and faster results for the nation's most vulnerable students.

"Fast ForWord is the most extensively researched and reviewed program on the market. With SmartLearning Technology, we've taken an already proven, evidence-based program and made it even more effective," said Jeffrey D. Thomas, CEO of Scientific Learning. "Students who use Fast ForWord stay challenged yet motivated, and educators have new lesson plans, reports, and tools to support student progress."

"Fast ForWord Foundations I is everything I anticipated and more," said Sandy Collins, a speech-language pathologist in British Columbia. "Students and parents will love it, and my coaches will be over the moon."

Developed by neuroscientists, the Fast ForWord program uses a unique three-step model to deliver fast gains to students. It provides them with the foundational language and cognitive skills, intensive practice, and guided reading support that they need to catch up, once and for all.

When compared to other interventions evaluated by What Works Clearinghouse, the Fast ForWord program is the only intervention with positive effects for English Learner and Literacy Outcomes for students grades K-10 in individual, small group, and whole class settings.
