Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) Hosts Global Student Entrepreneur Awards at University of Houston's Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship

Each year, the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), a global network of entrepreneurs with 13,000 entrepreneurs in 57 countries whose businesses employ more than 3.4 million people worldwide, sponsors the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) in which student entrepreneurs worldwide compete in local competitions for prizes and a chance to compete nationally and then at the global event. In Houston, the GSEA competition will be held on Thursday, November 8th from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at University of Houston's Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship.

"Our Houston chapter's participation in the GSEA is part of our efforts to nurture not just an entrepreneurial spirit among Houston's college students, but also to provide real-world skills, mentorship and connections to help these highly motivated students succeed," says Houston EO Chapter President, Jarred King.

The Houston GESA awards competition is open to all undergraduate and raduate college/university students who have owned and operated a business for at least six months. Selected students compete against their peers and present their business to a panel of judges. The Houston winner will win $3,500 in cash and value donated by Houston EO members and advance to the next level of competition - ultimately perhaps to the global finals in Macau. Applications to compete are due by October 20, 2018. Students may apply at gsea.org/apply.

"Houston is fortunate to have incredibly talented, creative and motivated student entrepreneurs," says Robert De Los Santos, EO's Houston GSEA Chair. "We also have some of the best educational opportunities for these students, with Princeton Review ranking University of Houston's undergraduate entrepreneurial studies program #2 in the nation, and Rice University's graduate program also #2, nipping at Harvard's heels."

The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) is an international program of Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), a global network of entrepreneurs helping the seeds grow in Houston and throughout the world with a membership of 13,000 entrepreneurs in 57 countries and more than 3.4 million employees worldwide. In Houston alone, EO's members include 163 CEOs from just about every industry, average per-company sales of $2.5 million, and 4,802 total employees.
