A.M. Best to Discuss New BCAR Model at the Casualty Actuarial Society's Casualty Loss Reserve Seminar & Workshops


Thomas Mount, senior director, A.M. Best, will be presenting at the Casualty Actuarial Society Casualty Loss Reserve Seminar & Workshops, being held September 5-7, 2018, in Anaheim, CA (News - Alert).

The presentation, "BCAR for Reserving Actuaries," will take place on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. (PDT). The session will focus on how Best's Capital Adequacy Ratio (BCAR), the capital model used in A.M. Best's financial analysis of insurance companies, applies to the work of reserving actuaries. The session will explain the development of the reserve capital factors, as well as the impact the reserving actuary and the reserving actuary's work products can have on BCAR and the company's rating.
