Sallie Mae Helps Make College Happen for Employees' Families with $180,000 in ScholarshipsSallie Mae, the nation's saving, planning, and paying for college company, today announced it has awarded more than $180,000 in scholarships to 37 children of employees as part of the company's Family Scholarship Program. Approximately 300 children of Sallie Mae employees have benefited from the program, which has distributed nearly $2 million in scholarships to date. The Sallie Mae Family Scholarship Program awards $5,000 scholarships, renewable for up to three years - or up to $20,000 per student - until the student earns a bachelor's degree or certificate. For academic year 2018-19, the company provided 10 scholarships to new recipients and extended 27 scholarship renewals for students who entered the program in prior years.
