In a session titled 'Increasing User Stickiness with Live Voice and Video,' Reggie will share new insights on how live in-game voice and video functionality can help game developers increase user stickiness and monetization as studios fight for player attention and screen time. The presentation will take place on Tuesday, October 23rd at 4:40 PM PT at the Sound Conference room within the Bell Harbor Conference Center.

"Internet connectivity has transformed the way gamers interact and play with each other. As a result, all forms of gaming—mobile, desktop and console—are becoming hyper social and collaborative by nature. To compete in the burgeoning yet increasingly saturated gaming market, game developers need to find new ways to engage players and make sure they come back and again and stay for longer periods of time."

Reggie will be joined by Bunch co-founder Selcuk Atli to showcase an innovative new mobile gaming platform built on top of the Agora platform. Bunch is an interactive mobile gaming app that draws inspiration from the LAN parties of the 1990s and 2000s and lets users play their favorite mobile games with friends over video chat. In addition to exploring the different user engagement strategies that can e created by integrating real-time communications into existing mobile gaming applications, Reggie will also share a number of recent gaming case studies before turning the stage over to Alti to provide a live walkthrough of the Bunch platform in action.

"One of the missed opportunities of in-game chat is that the engagement is limited to the length of the game session itself," said Atli. "By partnering with Agora, we were able to build an interactive social layer with amazing voice and video quality that lets players hang out before, during, and after the gaming session. Agora's real-time engagement technology makes it possible for us to deliver high quality voice and video chat while also supporting cutting-edge graphics for popular mobile games."

Last year, Agora officially released Agora Mobile Gaming (AMG) SDK, a developer tool that allows game developers to embed real-time voice chat into mobile games on iOS and Android platforms with only a few lines of code. The AMG SDK, which is compatible with major game engines like Unity, Unreal, Cocos and SpriteKit, has since been adopted by dozens of mobile titles across a variety of gaming genres, such as casual, social, FPS, MMORPG and MOBA, and supports millions of active players. Game developers can also utilize Agora's Voice & Video SDK to embed high-quality, low latency live video directly into the gaming experience.

"With live video's rising popularity in the gaming industry, we saw the perfect opportunity to integrate group video into Pokerface, a new poker game we're building," said Or Ben Shimon, co-founder and CEO of Comunix. "Agora offered a great live video solution that was easily integrated into our game's existing infrastructure and a global network we could leverage for quick go-to-market, as well as an amazing team to back the technology."

Agora's proprietary software-defined real-time network (SD-RTN™) utilizes a network of over 200 globally distributed data centers and a dynamic routing algorithm that optimizes network traffic in real time, resulting in 99.995% uptime and true quality of service (QoS) with an average end-to-end global latency of under one second at scale. Agora's robust communications infrastructure ensures high-quality, ultra low-latency voice and video no matter the player's geographic location or device.
