Twenty Awards of Excellence were handed out in a range of categories. Of these, five were recognized with additional Special Achievement Awards for demonstrating the highest level of technical innovation, dedication to the environment, Canadian expertise abroad, and engineering that most enhances Canadians' social, economic or cultural quality of life. Winners were selected by independent jurors with distinguished backgrounds in various sectors of the industry.

Now in their 50th year, the CCE awards are presented jointly by the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies-Canada (ACEC) and Canadian Consulting Engineer magazine. "Tonight, we not only celebrate this year's incredible rojects, we celebrate the extraordinary work of consulting engineers over the past 50 years and the important role they have on the social, economic and environmental quality of life of all Canadians," said ACEC President and CEO John Gamble. "Consulting engineers have a direct impact on our communities and our daily lives. The CCE awards are our chance to recognize these achievements on a national stage."

In addition, ACEC presented three awards to deserving individuals and teams.
