Vizient Recognizes 18 Children's Hospitals for Performance Achievements in 2018


Vizient, Inc. today announced the winners of its supply chain program awards for participating Children's Hospital Association (CHA) members. The awards, which recognize the outstanding performance in six categories, were presented at CHA's Improving Performance Conference, held Oct. 4 in Glendale, Ariz.

"Our supply chain program for our CHA members offer benefits beyond cost savings and rebates. They also have the benefit of reducing variation in the hospital's supply formularies which streamlines inventory management and reduces clinical variation," said Michael Ainsworth, vice president, member business ventures for Vizient. "As a result, these programs have become valuable tools for organizations who are focused on reducing supply costs while not compromising their clinicians' ability to access the highest quality products as they treat the unique needs of pediatric patients."

The Preferred Pediatric Program Participation Award recognizes the top CHA members who had broad participation with the Vizient Preferred Pediatric Program's signature suppliers. The 2018 winners are:

  • Children's Hospital & Medical Center - Omaha
  • Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters
  • Children's Minnesota
  • Cincinnati Children's
  • Texas Children's Hospital

The Advanced Analytics Price Index Improvement Award recognizes the CHA members who have achieved the most improved price index from use of the Vizient Savings ActualyzerTM price index benchmarking tool over the prior 12-month period. The 2018 winners are:

  • Children's National Health System
  • Childen's Hospital & Medical Center - Omaha
  • Children's Hospital of Wisconsin



The Advanced Analytics Price Index Performance Award recognizes the participating CHA members with the lowest price index over the prior 12-month period from use of the Vizient Savings Actualyzer tool. The 2018 winners are:

  • Seattle Children's Hospital
  • Children's Hospital of Wisconsin
  • Texas Children's Hospital

The Vizient Program Achievement Award recognizes the top participating CHA members for their commitment, participation and support of the Vizient Impact Standardization Program, Novaplus, Preferred Pediatric Program and Vizient contracting programs. The 2018 winners are:


  • Children's Hospital Colorado
  • Arkansas Children's Hospital
  • Children's Minnesota
  • Nicklaus Children's Health System

The Pharmacy Novaplus Compliance Improvement Award recognizes the participating CHA members with the greatest improvement in Novaplus pharmacy compliance over the prior 12-month period. The 2018 winners are:

  • The Children's Hospital of Alabama
  • Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago
  • Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

The Pharmacy Novaplus Compliance Award recognizes the participating CHA members with the best Novaplus pharmacy compliance percentages over the prior 12-month period. The 2018 winners are:

  • Children's Hospital of Orange (News - Alert) County
  • Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters
  • Children's Hospital & Medical Center - Omaha
  • Cook Children's Medical Center
  • St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
