Bass Pro Shops Selects Comosoft LAGO for High-Volume Catalog and Custom Insert Production

Outdoor retail giant Bass Pro Shops (www.basspro.com) has standardized on the LAGO system from Comosoft (www.comosoft.com) to manage their print catalog and insert production. The process, and the company's reasons for selecting Comosoft, are detailed in a recent report in Access Intelligence (News - Alert) MultiChannel Merchant.

The company's Senior Marketing Manager of Creative and Photography Services, Joe Gies, noted, "Comosoft LAGO is basically our beast of burden that helps us manage complex versioning, and real-time change out, on a constant basis."

The report describes how Bass Pro Shops, which serves over 200 million customers annually, uses the system to streamline production of extensive, full-color catalogs and regionally versioned advertising inserts, using data from the company's vast Product Information (PIM) system. LAGO provides the means of automatically placing complex product data within an Adobe (News - Alert) InDesign template, and gauging the market success of each item advertised.

A significant advantage of using LAGO is versioning. Tabloid inserts are customized to reflect regional fishing and outdoor activity preferences. "With our print catalogs, tabs, and inserts, we have increasingly transformed what was traditionally a mass-market channel into a one-to-one connection with our customers," Gies said.
