Jintang International Container Terminal (JTCT) Taps Navis to Achieve Growth by 2020

Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation, and the provider of operational technologies and services that unlock greater performance and efficiency for the world's leading organizations across the shipping supply chain, announced that Jintang International Container Terminal (JTCT), part of Tangshan Port Group, has gone live with Navis N4 as part of a plan to achieve five million TEUs by 2020.

The Port of Tangshan, located on the coast of Tangshan Municipality, Hebei, in Northern China, is the ninth largest port in China and is composed of three separate port areas, Jingtang, Caofeidian and Fennan, After achieving one million TEUs for the first time in 2015, JTCT has taken significant strides annually - most recently exceeding 2.5 million TEUs in 2018. To stay on target with dynamic growth, JICT selected Navis to help it hit its next goal of five million TEUs by 2020.

"At JTCT, we put an emphsis on quality and efficiency for our business and our customers," said Wang Xiang Wen, IT Department Manager, JTCT. "Implementing N4 at our terminal will allow us to help push our business to the next level and allow our operations to become more standardized and updated, helping us achieve optimal results to remain competitive in our region."

As automation and increased technology use is important for efficiency at terminals, JTCT needed a TOS to help them expand its capabilities while creating an easier process for employees. Functions like double lifting operations, expert decking and automatic loading and truck schedules, will help JTCT improve work efficiency while reducing labor intensity creating a safer environment for employees at the terminal.

"As our customers are building sites with exponential growth in sight, we want to ensure we have products and services to be able to handle the increased logistics and shipments they will need to handle," said Mark Welles, Vice President and General Manager, Asia-Pacific, Navis. "Partnering with JTCT will help them remain a leader in the APAC region by using the best TOS to help the terminal's operations run smoothly as it scales."
