DriveScale CTO Brian Pawlowski to Present on Design of a Composable Infrastructure Platform at Vault '19

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 20, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- DriveScale, the leader in delivering Composable Infrastructure for data-intensive workloads and a 2018 Cool Vendor by Gartner for Cloud Infrastructure, announced that its CTO, Brian Pawlowski, will present at the Vault '19 Linux Storage and Filesystems conference. Vault '19 Linux Storage and Filesystems Conference is a two day conference bringing together practitioners, implementers, users and researchers working on storage in open source and related projects. It is co-located with the 17th USENIX Conference of File Storage Technologies.

What: At Vault '19, Brian will present how composable infrastructure enables the dynamic creation of secure application clusters from disaggregated compute, storage and networking, as well as challenges facing such a solution. In his talk, "Design of a Composable Infrastructure Platform," Brian will break this into 5 partsincluding the user view, description of the problems and requirements for the platform, implementation details, virtual cluster creation and key failure scenarios.

As CTO at DriveScale, Brian is involved in the design and development of its Composable Infrastructure platform. The DriveScale Composable Platform is designed to dynamically create server infrastructure on the fly from heterogeneous compute and storage resources by flexibly composing them together with software intelligence based on application needs. Performance is equivalent to direct attached storage (DAS) and no changes are required to the application stack. This empowers mainstream enterprises to easily and instantly provision and modify data center infrastructure to match changing application workloads.

This presentation is targeted at those with widely deployed data analytics applications and NoSQL database applications that can consist of 100s to 1,000s of compute nodes with 10,000s of disk for each application in a secure cluster instance.

"Design of a Composable Infrastructure Platform" Talk Attendees will:

  • Learn how to create virtual clusters on a composable infrastructure platform.
  • Discover how DriveScale creates server infrastructure that scales and adapts to what your application needs using compute and storage elements freed from the box.
  • Hear Brian describe the state machine design for a correct and durable orchestration platform that scales to 100,000s of managed elements.

Where and When: Vault '19, Linux Storage and Filesystems Conference, at the Sheraton Boston in Boston, Massachusetts.

  • Brian's talk, "Design of a Composable Infrastructure Platform" will take place on Tuesday, February 26 at 1:30 PM
  • The full program can be found here.

About DriveScale
DriveScale creates server infrastructure composed on the fly from pools of heterogeneous, low-cost compute nodes, storage systems and network fabric. Called Composable Infrastructure, the DriveScale Composable Platform orchestrates highly available, high-performance servers designed for data-intensive applications. Customers deploy and redeploy resources in minutes, eliminate resource underutilization and reduce refresh costs by decoupling compute and storage, providing cloud agility at scale in your data center at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions. DriveScale's platform is open and works with a large ecosystem of alliance partners. Founded and led by technologists with deep roots in IT architecture who built enterprise-class systems for Cisco, Sun Microsystems and NetApp, DriveScale is based in Sunnyvale, Calif.
