Licensing Executives Society to Welcome Former USPTO Director and Distinguished Leaders at Silicon Valley USPTO Event on May 14, 2019


The Licensing Executives Society (U.S.A. and Canada), Inc. (LES) announced today that registration is open for its inaugural LES Leading Edge Series event, Driving Innovation: Standards in Licensing and Intellectual Capital Management, at the Silicon Valley U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in San Jose. The highly anticipated, one-day event will feature a speaker line-up of notable business leaders and members of the technology and intellectual property (IP) communities. Kappos will deliver the LES keynote titled "Behavioral Issues in Licensing of SEPs and other IP - Defining Acceptable and Best Practices through Voluntary Standards." As Under Secretary of Commerce and Director of the USPTO, Kappos was instrumental in achieving legislative reform of the U.S. patent system. He is widely recognized as one of the world's foremost leaders in the field of intellectual capital, including IP management and strategy; the development of global IP norms, laws and practice; and the commercialization and enforcement of innovation-based assets.
