Xperi Recognizes Master Inventor Dr. Bel Haba for Issuance of 500th U.S. Patent


Xperi Corporation (NASDAQ: XPER) ("Xperi") today announced that Dr. Belgacem Haba, senior fellow and vice president for Xperi's Invensas business, has been awarded his 500th U.S. patent and now holds more than 1,000 patents and patent applications worldwide. Dr. Haba's latest patent includes the development of 3D semiconductor and integration technologies for mobile, consumer electronics, computing, data center, automotive, industrial, and scientific applications.

Dr. Haba has made substantive contributions to the global innovation community throughout his career and is widely regarded as one of the top inventors in the world. He has authored numerous technical publications and egularly participates in top innovation-focused global conferences. Dr. Haba's work has received numerous accolades, including a Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) Award and recognition by R&D Magazine's prestigious R&D 100 awards. In 2017, he opened the Haba Institute in Algeria to help young entrepreneurs in Algeria and other countries in Africa.



In addition to his 20-plus years at Xperi, Dr. Haba was a senior staff member at Google's data center platform division. Dr. Haba also co-founded SiliconPipe Inc., a high-speed interconnects company that was acquired by Samsung (News - Alert), managed the advanced packaging R&D division at Rambus, worked for the NEC Central Research Laboratories in Tokyo Japan, and for IBM Watson Research Center in New York on the applications of lasers in microelectronics.

Dr. Haba holds a doctorate degree in materials science and engineering from Stanford University, as well as two Master of Science degrees in applied physics, and materials science and engineering from Stanford, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in physics from the University of USTHB Bab-Ezzouar, Algeria.
