Capital Investment Companies to Sponsor "Hope Jam" Concert on October 24 to Benefit Bahamian Victims of Hurricane Dorian

Capital Investment Companies, which is partnering with Hope Jam Raleigh and the Caribbean Youth Network to support Bahamian victims of Hurricane Dorian, announced it will host a benefit concert featuring Athens, GA-based Mama's Love on Thursday, October 24, at 6:00 p.m. at Coastal Credit Union Midtown Park. Local bands Midnight Snack and Steamroom Etiquette will open for the headliner.

Hope Jam Raleigh was created by Raleigh residents Kallie and Locke Walker and is run by a board of local young professionals who were moved by the devastation in the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian and saw an opportunity to contribute to the relief effort.

"We have a special love for the Abacos and, when thinking about how to contribute to relief efforts from afar, an upbeat concert that embodies the lively, resilient spirit of the Bahamian people seemed like the right fit," said Kallie Walker. "Partnering with the Caribbean Youth Network, an established 501c3 nonprofit organization that is already on the ground supporting victims of the storm ensures all proceeds from Hope Jam Raleigh will immediately be put to good use."

The Caribbean Youth Network is already on theground helping families find temporary housing, providing much-needed healthcare and trauma support in refugee camps, purchasing school uniforms for displaced children.

Hope Jam Raleigh is presented by Capital Investment Companies. Capital is one of the largest independent brokerage firms in the Southeast and is celebrating their 35th year in business. Named one of the Best Employers in North Carolina by Business North Carolina and headquartered in Raleigh, N.C., Capital Investment Companies supports the culture of giving back to the community through their Capital Cares Campaign.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Hope Jam Raleigh and the Caribbean Youth Network," says Con McDonald, long term vacationer in the Abacos and partner of Capital Investment Companies. "These people desperately need our help. These are our own people, in that most of the original settlers of the Abacos were originally from the Southeast United States. Giving to others after such a devastating event gives purpose and fulfilment in supporting the needs of others in their time of despair and we are grateful to be able to help from this far away."
