PacWest Conference to Use Blast Swing Analysis Tech to Gain Recruiting & Player Development Insights

Today, Blast Motion and the PacWest Conference announced an exclusive partnership that enables the collection of advanced swing analysis data in the sports of baseball, softball and golf, providing participating colleges and coaches with access to Blast information. By understanding the fundamentals of how a player's swing changes over time and in different environments, coaches can use Blast's objective swing quality analysis and player development insights to help players improve both their physical and mental game. Blast data will also be used to help PacWest colleges and coaches evaluate and better assess a prospective collegiate candidate's swing.

"Our charter is to provide student-athletes the opportunity to compete at the highest level of competition and we believe that technologies, like Blast, are the key to enabling the next level of their development," said Bob Hogue, PacWest Conference, Commissioner. "By providing our Conference members with access to the same technology used by professional teams and Division I colleges, we're not just leveling the playing field, we're giving them an opportunity to change the game."

Blast Baseball is the #1 swing analyzer used by the majority of the MLB (News - Alert) teams, including the last three teams to win the World Series. Blast Baseball, Blast Softball, and Blast Golf are used by 65% of the Power 5 Conferences, hundreds of collegiate programs, and thousands of high schools, elite travel teams, hitting facilities, and youth customers for coaching, training, and recruiting. Blast technology is designed to help coaches evaluate and improve a player's swing through automatic swing quality assessments (plane, connection, rotation), video analysis & comparisons, 3D swing tracer visualizations, and personalized performance reports. Blast swing insights have become the benchmark for evaluating and improving a player's swing, with industry leading accuracy and consistency validated by The Center for Human Performance.

"With the majority of the pro teams now using Blast technology, we've seen a significant increase in the usage of Blast information at the collegiate and high school levels," said Jeff Fallis, Blast Motion, Vice President of Sales. "Swing information is changing how players are developed and recruited. The PacWest Conference understands the value of this information and by being forward thinking, they are providing student-athletes with an opportunity to compete at the highest levels."
