Aqua America Recognized by Forum of Executive Women with Advancing Women Company Award

Aqua America Inc. (NYSE: WTR) received the Forum of Executive Women's Advancing Women Company Award on Nov. 14. The award recognizes companies that go above and beyond to create cultures where women can thrive, succeed and have a voice.

Aqua America Chief Administrative Officer Susan Haindl accepted the award on behalf of the company. "Aqua values the incredible women who work here, and we continue to create opportunities for women to grow and succeed throughout the company. Our diversity makes us stronger, and we're thankful for the Forum's recognition of our efforts to create a culture where women can succeed." Haindl is a member of the Forum of Executive Women.

In October, Aqua was recognized as a Champion of Board Diversity by the Forum. The recognition honored companies with a board of directors comprising at least 30 percent women. Aqua was one of 17 companies from the Greater Philadelphia region recognized at the event and included in the Forum's 2019 Women in Leadership Repor, an annual report on the status of women leaders in top area public companies featuring organizations that are leaders in board diversity.

"Aqua recognizes and embraces our diversity and inclusion as core elements of the company's culture," said Aqua America Chairman and CEO Christopher Franklin. "Our relentless pursuit of excellence means we are committed to cultivating and supporting emerging leaders throughout our organization, and we are committed to continuing to elevate women as leaders in both our company and our industry."

Aqua was previously recognized by 2020 Women on Boards as a Winning 'W' Company for having 20 percent or more of its board seats held by women. Aqua also was recognized as a Champion of Board Diversity by the Forum of Executive Women in 2016. The Forum of Executive Women is a membership organization of more than 450 women executive leaders across the Greater Philadelphia region.
