NFC Forum Innovation Awards Open for 2020 Submissions Today


The NFC Forum, the global standards body and advocacy association for Near Field Communication (NFC), announced today a call for entries officially opening submissions for the third global NFC Forum Innovation Awards competition to recognize innovative NFC products, services and applications. There is no cost to enter the competition and the deadline for award submissions is March 6, 2020. NFC technology is one of the most prolific technologies on the planet; it is used by billions of people daily and is a standard feature on smartphones.

NFC Global Award Program Opens Today
The 2020 NFC Forum (News - Alert) Innovation Awards are sponsored by NXP Semiconductors (Platinum Sponsor) for the Best NFC Application in iOS13 Category and by Identiv. Award winners will be announced at the NFC Forum Members Meeting Awards Reception at the Connections Summit in Helsinki, Finland on June 24, 2020. Past Innovation Award winners can be found here.



NFC Forum member and non-member companies or organizations, developers, systems integrators, agencies and media brands using NFC in new, disruptive and innovative ways can submit award entries starting today. All entries are reviewed, judged and award winners are selected by an independent group of global industry professionals.

Award categories include:


  • Best-in-Market NFC Implementation
  • Most Innovative Use of NFC
  • NFC for a Greener World
  • Best NFC Application in iOS13
  • Best NFC Application in Android (News - Alert)

Examples of NFC innovation areas include, but are not limited to, connected home, smart health, smart consumer, automotive, sustainable NFC products/solutions, Internet of Things, gaming, connected retail, payment, mobility, identity and transport as well as NFC applications in iOS 13 and Android.
