Medical Informatics Corp. Accelerates Growth with Opening of New Office in Heart of Texas Medical Center

Medical Informatics (News - Alert) Corp. (MIC), a software-based monitoring and analytics company, opened a new office in November in Houston's Texas Medical Center. The 10,399-sq.-ft. space at 1801 Binz Street, suite 450, will serve as the company's headquarters and will accommodate rapid growth; accelerate co-development of patient-centered, predictive analytics; and leverage the area's diverse high-technology talent pool.

Emma Fauss, CEO of MIC, confirmed this as a significant milestone for MIC. "After announcing our Series A in Q1 2019, we doubled our number of client sites and number of employees. But this is just the beginning," she said. "The new facility provides us with the ability to continue that expansion in 2020 and beyond."

The office's location and design are intentional. Through a wall of windows, the MIC team looks onto the campus of healthcare clients the company seres daily. Open-concept training spaces, a medical AI lab, a central command center and even a meditation room are available for employees. "We are dedicated to bringing innovation to healthcare. I really feel like our space reflects that innovation," Fauss said. The team worked closely with Tramonte Designs to develop and design the space in a way that meets the unique vision of MIC.

Vincent Gagne, vice president of product for MIC, emphasized that proximity to major clientele is crucial. "We designed our Sickbay platform to give lost data back to doctors, nurses and other members of the care team so they could save more lives," he said. "In fact, our apps are built in collaboration with our clients, such as Texas Children's Hospital and Houston Methodist. Having these facilities blocks away from our headquarters accelerates that collaboration and development," Gagne concluded.
