On Ballot in Maine, Presidential Candidate De La Fuente Unveils Education Plan; Calls for Nationwide Virtual Classes With Top Educators Teaching Online

Alliance Party of Maine presidential candidate Roque "Rocky" De La Fuente today announced his plan to create an online network of virtual universities in which leading faculty will provide post-secondary instruction online at no cost, and local public schools will be funded to strengthen their online teaching technologies.

De La Fuente and his staff have been working on fleshing out details for the national Education for Everyone (E4E) plan since January.

"With the realities thrst upon us by the pandemic, my plan to provide nationwide online university-level learning and strengthen virtual teaching technology in local public schools will ensure we continue to provide opportunities for an effective education for everyone," declared San Diego resident De La Fuente, a lifelong businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist now in his second bid for the presidency.

De La Fuente is the Alliance Party's nominee for president in Maine, with running mate Darcy G. Richardson (News - Alert). He is also the presidential nominee for the American Independent Party, the Reform Party of the United States, and the Natural Law Party in Michigan.

RURAL AREAS TO BE FOCUS

Recognizing that many rural areas and some working poor households may not have access to internet bandwidth to participate in the virtual education programs, De La Fuente said he will order the Federal Communications Commission to undertake a national survey of underserved areas and households, prepare a budget to achieve coverage where needed, and ask Congress to authorize the funding required to provide full online access as warranted.

De La Fuente's E4E initiative includes allocating funds to enable K-12 public schools nationwide to renovate or build new, high-tech, high-speed internet connectivity systems capable of reaching and teaching students online, and also will provide funding for in-home laptops through partnerships with major computer manufacturers.

E4E also will embrace and empower our nation's community and technical colleges, which are our most efficient and inexpensive delivery systems now for training and educating millions of Americans. Many are already tuition free. All should be tuition free and offer both in person and virtual instruction.
