Pac-West (News - Alert) Telecomm, a provider of advanced telecommunications services, announced that Columbia Ventures Corporation (CVC), Pac-West's parent company, has invested additional capital in the company.

The additional investment will allow Pac-West to expand and develop its origination offerings and cloud-based Telastic service line to meet the growing demands of its customers, company officials said.

CVC is a private investment company with telecom holdings in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia.

The investment is significant as the telecom industry continues to see significant movement in the worldwide VoIP market. The capital will assist Pac-West as it is facing substantial demand for its on-demand, cloud-based Telastic technology.

The capital investment enables Pac-West to quickly roll out features in response to its growing Telastic customer base while maintaining a high level of customer service for its core origination service customers.

“Pac-West has leveraged cloud-based services with our Telastic line in a manner that has completely changed what is possible for us to provide to our customers,” said Jim Hensel, CEO of Pac-West, in a statement.

“The choice that CVC has made to invest additional resources into Pac-West for support of these efforts is indicative of a larger commitment they're making to our customers and that Pac-West's strategic direction is in line with the future of the industry,” Hensel added.

Recently, Pac-West certified the Panasonic KX-TGP500 and KX-TGP550 SIP cordless phone systems for use within Telastic hosted telephony platform.  

Telastic solution set includes key telecom service components such as a feature-rich SBC, white-label VoIP and IP-PBX (News - Alert) services, certified third-party applications and telephony infrastructure as-a-service offerings.
