GCS Partner Digerati Charges Forward with More Successes in 2012

By Carrie Schmelkin, TMCnet Web Editor

Let the good times keep on rolling for Digerati.

In addition to tapping Global Convergence (News - Alert) Solutions’ (GCS) Dynamic Route & Rate Management Solution as its operational system and outlining key business opportunities  and strategic initiatives to drive sales, growth and profitability, Digerati has made 2012 a momentous year so far with its latest announcement that its value-added reseller (VAR) distribution strategy appears to be working.

Launched at the start of this fiscal year, Digerati’s VAR strategy has proven successful as the cloud communications services provider has secured nine qualified VARs including an IT compliance consulting and solutions provider, a wireless ISP serving South Texas (ADT Systems), and a telecommunications services company serving the South Texas region (Starr Telecom). Digerati now has more than 37 customers on its cloud communication network including a Fortune 500 energy company, a Fortune 500 insurance company, a financial services subsidiary of a NYSE company, a national audio, Web and video conferencing service provider and a global call center serving the Fortune 500 market, according to company officials. In the last three months, the revenue production from these accounts has doubled; it is currently generating about 35 percent of the Digerati’s total monthly gross profits.

Digerati first considered implementing a VAR strategy when it saw the need to being a cost-effective sales and marketing strategy that relies on VARS as its distribution channel. The company typically seeks out VARs that have cemented relationships with SMBs as its VAR program targets PBX (News - Alert) vendors, systems integrators, managed services providers and broadband providers.

Recently, Digerati sat down with TMCnet to discuss how the company has fared so far in 2012, especially following its significant transformation from a traditional international telecommunications carrier to a global VoIP and cloud-based telephony service provider.

Today, Digerati has emerged as a cloud telephony service provider that has expanded its next-generation VoIP network into more than 50 countries and has established over 200 global partnerships with foreign carriers and emerging operators.

“Eliminating the complexities associated with implementing a cloud-based global solution is what we are all about,” Smith told TMCnet. “We are looking to simplify that business process for our customers and enable our value-added resellers (VARs) to sell a simple solution that is easy to implement.”
