Datora Telecom Group (Datora), a Brazil-based telecom firm that provides VoIP services throughout Latin America and across the globe, has been engaged in telecom services for the past 18 years. Datora has implemented an upgrade to PortaOne's (News - Alert) PortaBilling Oracularius, a carrier grade converged VoIP billing and customer management platform that provides Datora with a reliable next generation system within an Oracle (News - Alert) Real Application Cluster environment.

The system provides billing capabilities including the usage event, usage, or periodic-based billing, and multiple services functionality. Features also include custom charging formulas and pre- and post-paid business models. It's a real-time billing engine that works in tandem with Datora's other telecommunication network equipment to enable flexible call routing, and profit-guarantee routing.

Datora first partnered with PortaOne in 2007 when it selected an early version of PortaSwitch, a flagship VoIP infrastructure system. Based in Canada, PortaOne is a global provider of software for the telecommunications and utility industries with products that enable service providers, producers and carriers to run a broad line of retail and wholesale services within one software package.
