EMS TrafficBoard Offers Clearinghouse for Wholesale VoIP Trading

By Ed Silverstein, TMCnet Contributor

EMS Financial Services LLC is introducing EMS TrafficBoard – a clearinghouse for wholesale VoIP trading.

Powered by EMS Financial Services LLC, a leading global funds disbursement and software company for the telecom industry with 1,000 members, constituting nearly one-third of the wholesale VoIP market, EMS TrafficBoard offers Telco buyers and sellers the market’s only platform to meet, connect and utilize the services of the company’s widely accepted EMS Escrow.

“EMS TrafficBoard was created at the request of our 1,000 plus EMS customers who needed a safe place to meet and interact with fellow wholesale VoIP traders to leverage the best route rates in the marketplace,” James Nicholson, managing partner, EMS Financial Services, said in a company statement.

“With TrafficBoard, wholesale VoIP traders now have a place to meet and exchange best practices, as well as get updates on the best rates available in the market,” Nicholson added. “More importantly they can finalize their transactions by leveraging EMS Escrow, a proven, secure and reliable service.”

The EMS TrafficBoard lets companies post their best rates through forums. Buyers and sellers can connect on the EMS TrafficBoard, and transactions are completed through the company’s secure EMS Escrow. EMS Escrow customers also get the security of VeriSign and McAfee (News - Alert), and an FDIC-insured banking partner.

According to InStat, wholesale VoIP revenues in the United States reached $3.8 billion in 2010. In 2006, the U.S. market for VoIP added about 4 million households – leading to increased revenue.

Also, residential VoIP increased at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 116 percent through 2009 – with the quickest growing mobile markets in Western Europe, the Middle East, South Africa and Africa.

In a related matter, TMCnet reports that EMS Financial Services LLC has announced that Tele-Unity is another customer using EMS Escrow to power a global, next-generation telco network, according to a company press release. Tele-Unity is a specialist for fixed-line and mobile call termination with a focus on European and African mobile destinations, TMCnet adds.

In other news, since completing interoperability testing between Global Convergence Solutions’ (GCS (News - Alert)) Dynamic Route Manager and IVR Technologies’ Talking SIP platform, the end-to-end solution has enabled domestic and international carriers with the ability to fully optimize their routing in order to build more margin into their call. TMCnet recently sat down with Barry Sher, vice president of business development of IVR Technologies (News - Alert), to hear about how the partnership has benefitted both the Next Gen Network Solutions company and IVR Technologies.
