Next Gen Network Solutions Week in Review

By Carrie Schmelkin, TMCnet Web Editor

Welcome to the first edition of TMCnet’s Next Gen Network Solutions (News - Alert) Week in Review featuring this week’s top headlines in the Next Gen Network Solutions industry.

This week, two major powerhouses in the industry came together to announce the formation of a strategic partnership.

Global Convergence (News - Alert) Solutions (GCS) has decided to team with EMS Financial Services, a leading Global Funds Disbursement Solution and software company for the telecom industry, to create the most advanced cloud-based finance and VoIP call delivery system available in the marketplace today. As part of the partnership, GCS (News - Alert), a Next Gen Network Solutions provider of Dynamic Routing and Rating solutions, will integrate its GCSs Dynamic Solution Platform technology with EMS TrafficNet to deliver major solution enhancements. EMS and GCS will showcase their integrated solution at International Telecommunications Week (ITW), May 23-25, taking place in Washington, D.C.

Through this partnership, wholesale VoIP traders (buyers and sellers) will be able to leverage a next gen cloud based solution to manage the financial component of the wholesale business, while ensuring calls are routed seamlessly between carriers, according to company officials.

“We arranged a deal with GCS to do co-branding with our TrafficNet, which is offering various billing and routing solutions, and clearly GCS is one of the best providers in the market; that’s why we chose them,” EMS Financial’s Director of Sales and Marketing Christian Betke told TMCnet.

“We feel that the product is excellent and they have great customer service and that’s what we demand of any of these solutions that we are looking for because that is how we treat our customers,” he added.

In other news, Asentinel (News - Alert), a technology-centric Telecom Expense Management company, is fast gaining recognition from major carriers because of its billing expertise.

Officials with Asentinel recently reported that dozens of carriers, including industry giant AT&T (News - Alert), have sought out the company’s software to help to develop new electronic data interface (EDI) billing systems that will continue to provide data that is sufficient to audit back to the carrier’s contracted rates.

“Since our inception, Asentinel has been working on our customer’s behalf to enhance their carrier’s billing capabilities,” said Jason Fisher, chief software architect for Asentinel, in a statement.  “The goal of our solution and the patents surrounding our technology has always been to capture the most granular billing detail and audit these charges back to the customer’s contractual rates. This has created an ongoing demand to make billing system enhancements as carriers deliver new products and services.”

Also in the news was the fact that CareTel announced it is offering comprehensive Operational Support Systems (OSS) based billing solutions for prepaid and postpaid telecom services providers and bill consolidators to help them streamline the billing operation.

The company has mastered the art in hosting OSS based Telecom Billing Solutions for telecom and CLEC service providers. The service has assisted several customers in minimizing the complex matters that consume great human effort and time.

In addition to telecom industry, CareTel’s OSS solutions have also proven their potential in Customer Relationship Management, Web portals for customers and agents, order management, provisioning, Integrated billing, Integrated IVR, Electronic Bill Presentment & Payment (EBPP), reporting, trouble ticketing and work flow management and equipment inventory.
