Next Gen Network Solutions: Week in Review

By Carrie Schmelkin, TMCnet Web Editor

This week spelled big news on the Next Gen Network Solutions front, particularly for dynamic rating and routing company Global Convergence (News - Alert) Solutions (GCS).

This week, GCS made two major announcements at International Telecoms Week (ITW) – that it had formed two strategic partnerships, one with EMS Financial and one with Razorsight (News - Alert).

GCS, a Next Gen Network Solutions company, kicked off ITW starting with the sharing of the news that it has formed a strategic marketing initiative with EMS Financial.

The two companies recently teamed to create the most advanced cloud-based finance and VoIP call delivery and management system available in the marketplace today. Just days before unveiling the solution at ITW – a solution that will integrate GCS’s (News - Alert) Dynamic Solution Platform technology with EMS TrafficNet – EMS Financial’s Director of Sales and Marketing Christian Betke sat down with TMCnet to discuss the new strategic partnership.

“We arranged a deal with GCS to do co-branding with our TrafficNet, which is offering various billing and routing solutions, and clearly GCS is one of the best providers in the market; that’s why we chose them,” Betke said.

“We feel that the product is excellent and they have great customer service and that’s what we demand of any of these solutions that we are looking for because that is how we treat our customers,” he added.

Also at ITW, GCS and Razorsight, the leading cloud-based business intelligence and profit analytics solutions provider for the communications industry, unveiled their new initiative, announcing that the partnership will allow both companies to jointly market, present and pursue global opportunities for their products and services by leveraging the existing sales, marketing and customer bases of both companies.

Just days before the announcement was made, Charlie Thomas (News - Alert), CEO of Razorsight, sat down with TMCnet to discuss the news and how it first turned to GCS when its customers started asking for next generation routing capabilities.

“It’s not something that we’ve built nor do we have any intention of building it but we do see the need for it and we do get a lot of requests from customers for it,” Thomas said. “In particular, the world is moving quickly from a TDM centric world to an IP centric world and even customers with embedded solutions are looking for new technologies and new ways of providing this functionality.”

“The legacy solutions in the market today fall short when it comes to the dynamic types of routing, particularly for international carriers, but also for anyone moving to an IP centric environment,” Thomas said. “We think [GCS has] created an industry leading next generation platform to handle those traffic types more effectively and efficiently both from a cost, through point and performance perspective.”
