TMCnet Next Gen Network Solutions Week in Review

By Carrie Schmelkin, TMCnet Web Editor

This week, Next Gen Network Solutions leader Global Convergence Solutions (News - Alert) (GCS) was busy gearing up for B/OSS Live, an event that welcomes hundreds of professionals in the telecom market to Washington, D.C., to hear about which business and operations support systems are necessary to employ to become leaders in the communications industry.

Fresh off of International Telecoms Week, GCS is already looking forward to another show. This is the first year the proprietary routing and rating company will be attending B/OSS Live.

“As we continue to expand our presence in the marketplace and acquire market share, we want to make sure we are investing in opportunities that allow prospective customers to learn about GCS (News - Alert), our solutions and our value proposition,” GCS CEO Neal Axelrad told TMCnet. “The B/OSS trade show taking place in Washington D.C. is a highly focused event in the U.S. billing and operational support systems market and we are participating to make sure that the audience knows who we are, what we do and how we can help them.”

B/OSS Live!, which takes place from June 15-17, will feature keynote addresses, a Q&A corner, exhibitors and sessions about the cloud, the anatomy of a billion conversions and billing and merchandising.

In other Next Gen Network Solutions news, provider of agreements-based billing and compensation solutions MetraTech (News - Alert)  announced its participation in the second phase of an Enhanced Cloud Service Management Catalyst.

To define an end-to-end cloud computing services management framework, the company has teamed-up with Cisco (News - Alert), InfoVista and other international names.

For the communication service providers (CSPs), the TM Forum Catalyst explores how they can develop, monetize as well as assure a portfolio of cloud computing-based services such as hosted video conferencing. The collaboration involves BT, Cisco, Amartus, Comptel, MetraTech and Progress Software (News - Alert). These companies are aiming to deliver an intelligent infrastructure and management approach, enabling CSPs to achieve service differentiation.
