TMCnet Office 365 Week in Review

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

Streamlining business operations is key to a business’s success. Luckily with a solution such as Office 365 in place, any company around the world can drive productivity. With the ability to fully customize it to an individual organization’s needs, Office 365 makes it easy to communicate across multiple divisions of any corporation, reduces costs and increases efficiency.

This week in the space, InterCall (News - Alert), a subsidiary of West Corporation, revealed it would be sponsoring a webinar and demo entitled, “How the Cloud Changes Everything and Nothing at All: An Introduction to Office 365.”

Slated to take place on July 12 at 2 p.m. ET, the not-to-miss event will focus on the business benefits of using cloud-based communications. Stephen Deming, Microsoft (News - Alert) partner solution advisor for U.S. small, medium business and distribution, is the featured speaker who is touted as heading the Office 365 demonstration and will show users the ways in which to leverage this solution so they can see the most advantages.

“Customers tell us they appreciate our Office 365 webinars and demos because they simplify complex tools and help make the most of their technology investments,” said Kathleen Finato, senior vice president of marketing and business development at InterCall, in a statement.

Also this week, SherWeb, a provider of its own version of Office 365 coined SkyOffice, unveiled a revamped partner network.

With the goal of establishing its partner programs as the “most profitable” in the space, the company is now offering low reseller and distributor prices on its Hosted Exchange bundles, as well as powering partner pricing tiers that assist partners to see various rewards.

Additionally, the Office 365 provider’s Hosted Exchange Reseller Program lets resellers choose their own prices under their own brand.

Closing out the week, Microsoft stated it is now is enabling its partners to sell Office 365 through its Office 365 Open program, which basically means solution providers can purchase the cloud-based productivity suite for resale under their own terms and billing.

Before this announcement, partners had to pay a fee and then the tech giant still could control the rights to the client and bill the customer directly. However with this new program in place, partners can deliver packaged services with only one invoice.

"We are announcing the Office 365 Open program, which means you get to bill your customers directly," Kurt DelBene (News - Alert), president of the Microsoft Office Division added. "You will get to present a single solution to customers."
