Microsoft Launch Partner, Outsourcery, Upgrades to Latest Windows Server 2012

By David Gitonga, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Outsourcery, a seasoned provider of cloud-based IT and business communication solutions based in the U.K., recently upgraded its O-Cloud platform to the latest Microsoft (News - Alert) server and virtualization technology to deliver better features for IT VARs and ISVs.

Having its base on the recently released Windows Server 2012, O-Cloud can now provide a platform for testing and developing applications and seamlessly migrate to production grade status.

Windows Server 2012 takes the server category into a whole new level. It has introduced hundreds of new features and enhancements encompassing virtualization, networking, storage user experience, cloud computing, automation and many more.

By switching to Windows Serve 2012 and Outsourcery hosting, IT VARs and ISVs will now be better placed to gain a competitive edge that is needed to access the next phase of cloud technology.

Outsourcery’s clients will now have access to the very fast, versatile and secure platform bases on the new Windows server to help deliver the best out of their efforts.

Giving his view about the launch, James Griffin, director of Product Strategy and Marketing, said that “utilizing the enhancements in Windows Server 2012, the O-Cloud platform can now provision virtual machines (VM) with up to 64 processor cores and 1TB RAM (News - Alert), enabling it to cope with the most demanding back office workloads. Furthermore, from a single control panel, our partners are able to instantly scale resources up or down and move test and development environments to full production SLAs.”

Moving into the cloud with Outsourcery will enable companies, big or small, to avoid the barriers to adopting new software which often involves high costs of getting compatible hardware and running endless test runs.

Outsourcery partners will be able to offer their customers instant server deployment and scaling while doing away with the need to install onsite test and development equipment.

Microsoft’s Window Server and Management Marketing Team corporate vice president, Michael Park, believes the cloud OS platform will be consistent and satisfactory beyond its wildest dreams to the extent of saying it “was written from the cloud up.”
