Rand Secure Archive Implements Microsoft Office 365

By Deepika Mala, TMCnet Contributor

Rand Secure Archive, a division of Rand Worldwide, has recently employed a secure, cloud-based data archiving, storage and eDiscovery system that is based upon the foundation of Office 365.

With this solution in place, full archiving and eDiscovery capabilities can now be offered to employees of 50 plus offices of parent company Rand Worldwide. In fact, the Rand Secure Archive agreement includes designing and implementing a flexible solution that incorporates more than 400 staff members across three continents using Microsoft (News - Alert) Office 365 and a vast array of other engineering and project management software applications.

In a statement, Nedim Celik, CIO, Rand Worldwide, said, “The volume of electronic data that we produce has grown exponentially over the past several years. Alongside the volume, the formats and types of data we create has expanded and includes CAD models, Adobe (News - Alert) applications, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, email communications, instant messages, voicemails, project documentation, scanned information, and more. Since we need this complex array of information to be easily searchable and accessible at any time, we were looking for a proven and robust enterprise solution to archive and retrieve our critical data.”

Rand SA offers faster, more advanced search features in addition to eDiscovery tools and more convenient user access to archived data.  Also, the deduplication capabilities of Rand Secure Archive will help Rand Worldwide to reduce their overall storage footprint by approximately 50 percent.

“Rand Worldwide, like many of our customers, has implemented Microsoft Office 365 to provide a hosted email solution. With Rand Secure Archive we can now complement this service by providing full archiving and eDiscovery capabilities for all employees,” added Chris Grossman, vice president of the Enterprise Applications at Rand Worldwide. “Providing the same technology to our parent company that we also implement in other enterprises is simply further proof of how reliable and flexible the Rand Secure Archive enterprise solution really is.”
