Passwords can sometimes be frail and vulnerable to human error. As many people today use the same password in a number of different places, just one stolen password can allow an intruder to access all the critical information stored in the cloud. Realizing this, Scorpion Software, which offers authentication and password management products for IT service providers and IT departments, has introduced the first strong, fully independent two-factor authentication and single sign-on solution for Office 365.
In a statement, Scorpion Software CEO Dana Epp said, “AuthAnvil for Office 365 adds strong authentication and identity assurance, all while simplifying the user experience,” says Epp. “It eliminates the need to remember passwords, and allows users to login once to securely access all their email and business documents stored in the Cloud, from virtually any device.”
Instead of using a static password that can be shared, stolen or easily guessed, users leveraging AuthAnvil need to sign in only once through a two-factor authentication solution. Basically how it works is employees pick a pin number and then a one-time password is generated from an app on their smartphone, which is very similar to a bank card. It is now possible for staff to access everything without having to remember a password.
Because of its direct federation capability to Microsoft’s (News - Alert) array of cloud services, AuthAnvil for Office 365 enhances business operations within companies all sizes. In addition, companies can save time and money because it works in minutes and doesn’t need any extra software and server resources for ADFS or DirSync.
“It doesn’t matter if a business is an enterprise bank or a small architect firm,” added Epp. “Every business needs to ensure that only the right people can get to their sensitive data in the Cloud. AuthAnvil for Office 365 is designed so that any size of company can easily implement stronger access security.”
