Mimecast, a supplier of cloud-based e-mail archiving, security and continuity for Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange and Office 365, recently earned the 20^th position in the 2012 Deloitte (News - Alert) Technology Fast 50, a list of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the U.K.

In a statement, David Halstead, a partner leading the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 said, "The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 gives great profile to technology companies and is internationally recognized as being one of the most important business awards in the sector. The 2012 Deloitte Fast 50 shows that tremendous growth rates are still possible, with software sectors showing particular strength, they have had the greatest amount of entries in the past five years.

With rankings based on the percentage revenue growth shown over a five year period, the judges of the award noted that the Office 365 provider grew by nearly 1,030 percent during this period. The firm currently serves more than 6,000 customers and 1.6 million users worldwide.

In related company news, TMCnet reported that Mimecast has completely overhauled its cloud archiving capabilities in order to allow end users to access their personal collection of documents from their preferred e-mail client or mobile device.
