SP Marketplace, a provider of cloud-based collaborative business applications for SMBs, has just unveiled its SP HR for Office 365 and SharePoint. The new application is specifically designed for small to medium-sized organizations that require easy to use, quick to deploy and cost-effective solutions.

The suite was built upon Microsoft’s (News - Alert) Office 365 platform and leverages SharePoint, MS Office, Outlook, Lync and other 365 features. Some of the features included are employee self-service, service request tracking, as well as hiring process management and time-off management functions.

SP HR can be purchased as an individual application or part of SP Business Suite. It can run in the cloud (Office 365) or as part of on-premises SharePoint and it supports all editions of SharePoint (including Foundation) and Office 365 SharePoint Online.

“Traditional HR applications for large enterprises are too expensive and heavy featured for small to medium businesses, leaving many of the HR functions to manual processes”, said Darrell Trimble (News - Alert), CEO at SP Marketplace, in a statement.

SP HR provides the benefits of a more expensive solution in a light-weight yet effective solution for SMBs to automate and manage HR functions and offer employee self-service.

Back in October, SP Marketplace inked a partnership with Scinaptic Communications, the developer of OnePlaceMail, in order to deliver integrated collaboration capabilities for its customers. OnePlaceMail connects Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office and Windows Explorer to Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365.  

In line with the partnership, SP Marketplace SharePoint applications are extended beyond the standard SharePoint/Outlook/Office functionality to drag and drop e-mail and documents into SharePoint lists and libraries; sends and saves e-mails into SharePoint; inserts SharePoint links/documents into e-mails; accesses SP Marketplace SharePoint applications from Outlook; and searches SP Marketplace applications from Outlook.
