Microsoft (News - Alert) has secured another major Office 365 client with Visaka Industries in India. The second largest cement sheet manufacturer in India, the company decided to go with Office 365 over Google (News - Alert) Apps as it seemed to be the best fit for improving employee productivity as well as boosting team communication and collaboration.
The company has been growing steadily over the last few years and its IT requirements have grown with it. The primary concern, however, was to implement an IT infrastructure capable of keeping pace with Visaka's growth plans while also slashing costs. In the search for such an infrastructure, the company faced unpredictable issues due to IT infrastructural bottlenecks, which led to downtime, productivity loss and significant IT overhead. Fortunately, Office 365 proved to be the solution to these issues.
“The move to Office 365 has been remarkable so far as it brings cloud versions of Microsoft’s familiar Office productivity solutions, enabling our employees to start using the services immediately," said Krishna Moorthi, president of IT at Visaka Industries, in a statement. "We were also able to switch our employees from Google Apps to Office 365 services in a short span of time, with no downtime. Microsoft Office 365 clearly out-shines Google Apps not only in ease of use but also in terms of reliability and manageability.”
Office 365 came along at the right time, just as Visaka was about to invest in a multiparty vide conference solution and has proven to be the perfect cloud-based solution to integrate with the company's existing infrastructure. The immediately apparent benefits of switching over to Office 365 include reduced administration, less downtime and stronger security and reliability.
Microsoft also recently secured an Office 365 agreement with Singapore-based Hersing Corporation as well as Barilla Group, a major Italian food company, increasing the cloud suite's international reach.
