Office 365 is a cloud-based communications and collaboration solution from Microsoft (News - Alert). The offering allows you to share documents, view calendars, contacts, tasks and notes. Many companies are adopting the software as they look to streamline operations and reduce costs.
Telekom Malaysia (News - Alert), a communications provider in the country of Malysia, is one of these forward looking organizations who recently developed a new service based upon Microsoft Office 365.
The new Office in a Box is now offered in conjunction with the Microsoft Office 365 package. The service is a collaborative effort between Microsoft and Telekom Malaysia.
With this solution upgrade, Telekom Malaysia is now expected to attract 23,000 new subscribers over the next 12 months. In fact, the company had more than 100,000 subscribers for the earlier version of Office in a Box (News - Alert) which was launched in April 2010.
The communication provider powers high speed broadband connectivity with speeds ranging from one to four Mbps. It will soon offer eight Mbps at competitive call rates, according to Azizi A Hadi, executive vice president of Telekom Malaysia.
The bundle not only allows Malaysian small and medium-sized businesses to enjoy its fast business grade broadband connectivity but will also enable them to gain access to special value added services, Hadi added.
The company is optimistic considering the vast array of benefits the Office 365 platform delivers to its clients. With the option of being fully customized according to individual needs, Office 365 is the go to option for companies looking to efficiently communicate at a much higher level. Office 365 improves reliability as it is based upon a highly scalable platform using best of breed technology as well.
In other related news, SherWeb, a provider of Office 365 based solutions, has expanded its partnership with Ingram Micro (News - Alert) to help resellers in the U.S and Canada. Moreover, the company unveiled a new co-branded distribution model to Ingram Micro resellers, designed to address the issues associated with customer support.
