The revamped Microsoft (News - Alert) Office 2013 suite has been rolled out by Microsoft this week for business customers. Interested businesses can now buy the on-premises versions of Office products including Office 2013, Lync Server 2013, SharePoint Server 2013, Exchange Server 2013, Visio 2013 and Project 2013- through Microsoft Volume Licensing.

The robust portfolio supports touch, stylus, mouse or keyboard input. It has been designed to work seamlessly with Microsoft’s new Windows 8 operating system which was launched a little over a month ago.

“The new Microsoft Office provides security features without compromise, includes data loss prevention, compliance management, built-in malware protection, and flexible deployment options across on-premises and in the cloud. Coupled with new cloud services available next year, the new Microsoft Office will save your documents to SkyDrive by default, and your personalized settings, templates and documents will travel with you,” company officials revealed.

Touted as optimizing usability and providing users with the ultimate productivity experience, it enables users to leverage the software on a wide range of new devices that adds to their already familiar Office experience. In addition, the new Microsoft Office environment is inherently social with real-time news feeds that can be utilized for people, documents and discussions, high definition video conferencing, virtual whiteboards and the sharing of notebooks.

The new Office 2013 is very secure, boasting impressive security features which prevent data loss and enable compliance management. It also has built in malware protection.

It is likely with the release of this suite that it will drive a new way of doing business; carrying style and data with you wherever you go as the new Office 2013 is hosted via the cloud. Additional cloud services will be available by next year and then coupled with Office 2013, enabling customers to carry their personalized settings, templates and documents with them no matter where they are currently located.

Becoming available around the globe for consumers through retail and online stores in the first quarter of 2013, this offering is necessary in a world full of devices and different services in order to provide a comprehensive set of productivity tools that helps people in doing their best work at all times.
