Planet Technologies, a Microsoft (News
- Alert) consulting and services company headquartered in Germantown, recently welcomed Matt Smith in the role of cloud architect. With his knowledge and extensive experience in cloud computing and Office 365, Smith will be providing expertise to Planet’s state and local government customers around cloud architecture best practices.
He will be playing a crucial role in the development and strengthening of Planet’s archive and cloud e-discovery business. Before making this transition, Smith was working as a senior cloud and Microsoft Office 365 architect. He comes to Planet with nearly 10 years of experience that has been gained from working on an array of projects at the technology giant.
From last three years in particular, Smith was a principal consultant with Microsoft Consulting Services in its Americas Cloud Services Division. He has overseen firsthand the successful deployment of over two million seats of Exchange and worked closely with Microsoft's BPOS, Office 365 dedicated, multi-tenant, and government platforms.
In addition, Smith has completed Microsoft Exchange Ranger Rotation #13, the most elite Microsoft product team training for Exchange.
