As many small businesses are finding out, Google (News
- Alert) will no longer be offering its apps for free. Google Apps was a nice resource for small businesses that usually have extra tight budgets, but now the free basic version is gone although those that have been grandfathered in will continue to enjoy the benefits. The price hike comes from the reasoning that businesses quickly outgrow the basic version, but it likely also stems from Google wanting to increase its revenue.
This has closed the price gap between Google Apps and Microsoft’s (News
- Alert) Office 365. Up until now, both offered similar services yet Office 365 cost around $70 a year. Naturally, small businesses in a rather tight spot preferred the free Google offering to the paid Office 365. Now that the price gap has narrowed, many may be looking to switch to Office 365 that in addition to great software also promises that everything will be backed up.
Although some may still feel that Office 365 doesn’t contain everything they are looking for, which has opened the door from some other competition besides Google, SherWeb has an array of offerings for small to medium-sized businesses that offer flexibility and don’t require a minimum amount of users or contracts, allowing customers to pay a monthly fee if that’s what they desire. The suite is called SkyOffice and it features Hosted Exchange 2010, Lync 2010 and SharePoint 2010. And if in the unlikely case the consumer is dissatisfied, they have the option to cancel their service at anytime.
In fact, the Office 365 provider prides itself and makes note of its unparalleled level of customer service. It has a system in place that allows the business to constantly receive customer feedback which significantly improves customer satisfaction as well as connects the firm much more intimately with its wide customer base.
So, if your business is in the need a suite of e-mail and Office apps, it won’t hurt to give SherWeb a try. We guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
