Service Stream Chooses Office 365

By Kayvon Ghoreshi, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Service Stream is a big company in Australia having serviced 6,000 mobile phone tower sites, visited 32 million properties and delivered one million NBN connections. Service Stream Chief Information Officer, Craig Wishart, recently revealed that Office 365 was the best fit with the company’s overall IT strategy.

He commented, “In a contract-driven services business, it is essential that we can scale our technology costs in line with revenue. Office 365 allows for agility, enabling us to mobilize our team faster, and begin delivery to our customers sooner. Should we need 500 new mailboxes tomorrow, it’s a few clicks away, without delays for capacity assessments or procurement.”

Wishart also detailed that Service Stream has certain growth targets for 2013 that must be met and that that ultimately led the company to partner with Microsoft (News - Alert), an Office 365 provider that can fully manage and maintain the cloud environment with far improved levels of availability and recoverability.

Greg Rudakov, head of Service Operations at Service Stream, added that the addition of Office 365 will led to better efficiency and flexibility for the company as a whole. He stated, “This allows the company to create a unified workspace giving employees the ability to work from anywhere, leading to better employee engagement and freeing up ‘desk bound’ roles. Office 365 will provide our employee’s with access to email from virtually anywhere: in the office, at home or from a customer site, giving maximum flexibility. Supervisors can now spend more time in-field while our customer focused team can address commitments and promises made to delivering quality of service.”

A business switching to Office 365 is nothing new as the platform has become increasingly popular as of late. FICCI, a business organization in India, is another user of Office 365 for its business operations.

Rajiv Mishra, additional director & head of IT at FICCI concluded, “Microsoft Office 365 emerged as a better fit with our overall IT strategy, as it is much more integrated and advanced than Google (News - Alert) Apps and offers more of the functionality our employees need. Combined with the extended functionality in Lync Online, Office 365 offers much more enterprise value than Google.”
