BIO Opens Registration for 10th Annual World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing in Montreal
WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)--
Today the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) announced registration
and housing are now open for the 2013
World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing. This
unique conference will be held June 16-19, 2013 in Montreal, Canada at
the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
Now in its 10th year, the world's largest industrial biotechnology
conference for business leaders, investors, academics and policymakers
in biofuels, biobased products, renewable chemicals, synthetic biology,
food ingredients and biomass remains the only conference dedicated
solely to industrial biotechnology and the most recent advancements in
the field. Industrial and environmental biotechnology is at the
forefront of the biobased economy, generating good-paying jobs and
making cleaner products and processes.
"We are excited to bring this conference once again to Montreal to
highlight the industry's growth. In 2013 it is the World Congress' 10th
anniversary, and we are celebrating ten years of excellence," said Brent
Erickson, executive vice president of BIO's Industrial & Environmental
Section. "The World Congress provides company executives an unparalleled
opportunity to network with their colleagues, explore partnerships, and
learn about the latest developments in the field of industrial
biotechnology and bioprocessing."
Biofuel and renewable chemical company executives, scientists and
government officials from around the globe will speak in plenary
and breakout sessions at BIO's 10th annual World Congress.
Plenary and breakout sessions feature high-level takes on the industry's
hottest topics and are designed to keep you on the cutting edge of
industrial biotech.
BIO's World Congress will feature six
breakout session tracks over three days. More than 35 sessions will
cover the latest progress in commercializing advanced biofuels and
renewable chemicals, company partnerships and more in industrial
biotechnology. The six tracks include Advanced Biofuels and Biorefinery
Platforms; Feedstock Crops and Biomass Supply; Renewable Chemical
Platforms and Biobased Materials; Specialty Chemicals, Pharmaceutical
Intermediates, Food Ingredients; Synthetic Biology and Microbial
Genomics; and Technical Presentations.
BIO's World Congress will also feature investor
sessions and business partnering opportunities. The investor
sessions will allow executives from companies seeking to raise
investment capital to make formal 25-minute presentations on their
technology development and business models to an elite audience of
investors and analysts. The partnering sessions utilize a computer
system that assists companies and investors alike in arranging
confidential one-on-one meetings with other attendees. Last year BIO's
One-on-One Partnering led to more than 500 business partnering meetings.
Online
registration for the conference is now open. Early bird registration
ends May 3, 2013. Please visit http://www.bio.org/worldcongress/
for additional information, or email worldcongress@bio.org.
Online
pre-registration for reporters and editors is now open. All breakout
and plenary sessions at the BIO World Congress on Industrial
Biotechnology and Bioprocessing are open to attendance by members of the
media. Complimentary media registration is available to editors and
reporters with valid press credentials working full time for print,
broadcast or web publications.
