BRIEF: Lost hunter found in Hubbard County
AKELEY, Dec 17, 2012 (The Bemidji Pioneer - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A lost hunter was found unhurt Sunday evening by officials with the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office.
According to a press release, Thomas Janzen, 49, of Buffalo, Minn., called at about 5 p.m. from within the Paul Bunyan State Forest saying he was lost.
According to the release:
Officers were able to make phone contact with Janzen, but he was unable to provide his location.
Janzen was located by deputies after about a two-hour search, when he fired his gun and it was heard by officers.
Janzen was cold, but he required no hospitalization.
Assisting in the search, were the Minnesota State Patrol, North Ambulance, Hubbard County Sheriff's Posse, and the Akeley Fire and Rescue.
