Patcham flood alert update - Friday 28 December

Brighton and Hove City Council -- The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for Patcham after a rise in water levels following heavy rain.
We are continuing to closely monitor the ground water level and to work with the Environment Agency and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service . If water levels continue to rise, support will be provided to residents in affected properties.
The area was recently leafleted for households to join up to the flood alert scheme. Those households in the flood alert area will now receive a phone call advising them of the alert. You can join up to the flood alert programme here .
Today, Friday 28 December, an advice centre for Patcham residents will be open from 12 noon to 5pm. The centre is at Elwyn James Court, South Woodlands, Patcham BN1 8WU.
The homes in danger of flooding are being visited by council officers. Anyone in the area in need of more information can also email the council team on epu@brighton-hove.gov.uk Emails will be answered as soon as possible.
Southern Water is monitoring water levels and how the sewage system is coping with the excess water.
Please ensure you are aware of the situation by checking the Environment Agency and Brighton & Hove City Council website. If the situation arises where you need to take further action you will be advised.
