BRIEF: R.I. Supreme Court to hear arguments in foreclosure case

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Rhode Island Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments Feb. 7 in the case of a Cranston couple who have challenged the right of an electronic mortgage registry to foreclose on their home.
Anthony and Stephanie Bucci are appealing a 2009 decision by Providence Superior Court Judge Michael A. Silverstein that upheld the right of MERS -- the Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems Inc. -- to foreclose in Rhode Island.
The defendants in the case are Lehman Brothers Bank, FSB, a federal savings bank, MERS, and Aurora Loan Services, LLC.
