BRIEF: Police still investigating Dakota Sunset robbery
Jan 10, 2013 (The Daily Republic - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
The Mitchell Police Division is still looking for the man who robbed a local convenience store at gunpoint more than a month ago.
The robbery occurred shortly before midnight Nov. 24 when a man armed with a gun entered through the front door of Dakota Sunset Liquor, located at 1524 W. Havens Ave. in Mitchell, and threatened the clerk with the gun and demanded money. The robber made off with more than $1,000 in cash.
Police describe the suspect as a white male, but say it's also possible he is Hispanic or American Indian, in his mid-20s to early 30s, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black coat, black tennis shoes and a white ball cap with an unknown emblem on it.
The man covered his face with a white garment during the robbery.
Mitchell Police Detective Lt. Don Everson said Wednesday that investigators are continuing to follow leads in the case.
He declined to release any additional details of the investigation.
