Recently, Clarizen’s online project management software has been integrated with Salesforce.com’s (News - Alert) Customer Relationship Management (CRM) offering. The result is an improved way for businesses to link their sales and service departments through the cloud, which in turn offers better accounting, reliability and visibility. It is particularly useful for service organizations which can clearly benefit from effective online management software.
Service organizations often need precise scoping of projects, and they need to be able to easily identify and allocate their resources, resolve any issues, and be able to measure achievements against key performance indicators (KPIs).
“Sales, support, service delivery, finance and billing are all key components of a successful project. However, in most organizations, these departments leverage unconnected tools that result in a communications gap at each hand-off, creating significant overhead and inefficiency,” according to a company statement.
By the new offering, there is improved control of a project. Interested team members and executives can see if a project is on target. Time spent on projects and expenses are carefully tracked. Clarizen tracks KPIs, with information presented for customized reports, or through Salesforce.com dashboards. It also allows for project data to be shared between software systems. In addition, there are better working relationships between the sales and service departments through the solution.
Some useful features include: issues can be submitted and tracked in both Salesforce.com and Clarizen; financial integration leads to easier work with timesheets and expense sheets; and dashboard reporting leads to better understand of trends, profits, efficiency and resource allocation, according to the companies.
Sales teams can start new projects from templates and track their progress using Salesforce. Also, service teams are given more visibility on upcoming projects and can more easily predict revenue and needed resources. In addition, with customer helpdesks, issues can be submitted and resolved with improved tracking via Clarizen. And Clarizen’s Budget Management module improves the calculation of financial indicators from individual tasks, major milestones or entire projects. Executives will find useful performance indicators, too, for Executive Management, Financial Management and Project Management. The solution also allows for sharing of documents, notes, emails and other attachments.
“In today’s competitive world, where everything is changing rapidly, companies need immediate access to up-to-date business data in order to move quickly and make informed decisions,” Avinoam Nowogrodski, CEO of Clarizen, explained in a recent company statement. “With the Clarizen-Salesforce integration, a company can become a true real time enterprise where sales, service delivery, and executive teams each get the visibility they require to make the right decisions.”
One company helped by the new offering is Marketo (News - Alert), which provides revenue performance management and social marketing automation solutions. “The Clarizen-Salesforce integration has given us a new level of visibility into each of our projects, helps us deploy projects more efficiently and enhances our project accounting abilities,” Jim Hickey, senior manager of client delivery and operations at Marketo, said in a recent press release. “It has become far easier for our services and sales teams to work together to structure projects and make sure tasks, issues and other work items don't fall through the cracks.”
The Clarizen-Salesforce offering supports Salesforce Professional, Enterprise and Unlimited editions. It can be installed from the Salesforce.com AppExchange.
Clarizen, a work execution software company, has its offices in Hod Hasharon, Israel, and San Mateo, Calif. Salesforce.com, an enterprise cloud computing company, is based in San Francisco.
