Sangoma AMD for Asterisk, a Cost-Effective, High Performance Solution for Call Center Solutions

Sangoma Technologies (News - Alert) Corporation, a provider of solutions that enables the interworking of a wide variety of disparate TDM and IP networks, clouds, protocols, services, devices, and applications, launched the Sangoma Answering Machine Detection (AMD) for Asterisk (News - Alert) software solution.

"Outbound call centers strive to optimize profitability by keeping agents on the line with prospects as near to 100 percent of the time as possible. With Sangoma's solution, the call center system can quickly analyze every dialed call to accurately determine if it should be connected to an agent," Frederic Dickey, director of professional services at Sangoma said in a statement.

Using specialized neural network algorithms, the Sangoma AMD (News - Alert) for Asterisk solution is noted to deliver AMD accuracy at levels of 95 percent in under 300ms and nearly 98 percent in under two seconds. For the call center solution provider, this can deliver a significant competitive edge, and for the call center operator, this results is higher efficiency and higher profitability, emphasized Dickey.

Asterisk is an open source framework for building communications applications. Asterisk powers IP PBX (News - Alert) systems, VoIP gateways, conference servers and other custom solutions. Today, there are more than one million Asterisk-based communications systems in use, in more than 170 countries.

Providing backward compatibility to Asterisk 1.4, AMD for Asterisk delivers all of the features of other sophisticated dialer analytics packages at a price-point aligned with the open source marketplace. AMD functions can be applied to TDM and SIP-based Voice over IP (VoIP) calls to provide implementation flexibility in the mixed-technology environments that are commonly found in many call center operations.

"We expect that the Sangoma AMD for Asterisk solution will give open source call center system developers the ability to stand toe-to-toe with big, proprietary system providers at a very attractive price," added Dickey.

AMD for Asterisk is available immediately to select early-adopters and Sangoma anticipates a general availability release before the end of 2012.
