SimpleSignal Adopts Shango's PaaS to Boost Efficiency of Sales Channels

Hosted PBX (News - Alert) and cloud-based unified communications (UC) provider SimpleSignal has adopted the Shango platform for its various cloud-based IP service offerings.

Using Shango’s Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) is intended to boost the efficiency of SimpleSignal’s (News - Alert) sales channels by using the common APIs available in the cloud-based Shango fulfillment platform.

Recognizing the need to expand its distribution strategies, SimpleSignal partnered with Shango to drive revenue and achieve greater efficiency overall, according to Dave Gilbert, CEO at SimpleSignal.

“Rarely now is any single enterprise customer serviced by infrastructure completely native to a given provider’s network,” Gilbert said in a statement. “We partnered with Shango in order to drive revenue, efficiency and velocity of transactions tied to our strategic relationships, while delivering even deeper product offerings for our customers."

SimpleSignal will employ the Shango platform and its inherent voice application ecosystem to automate the management of its services across its BroadSoft and Sansay (News - Alert) switching platforms, while extending Shango APIs to e-bond with its customers, and providing flow-through activation to its resellers and partners.

With the increasing complexity of IP services from third-party suppliers, Shango CEO David Walsh (News - Alert) said there is further validation that the cloud, coupled with the company’s platform, is creating a higher layer of abstraction within the fabric of IP communications.

“We’re eager to welcome SimpleSignal into the Shango ecosystem, which sees the growing importance of incorporating increasingly complex IP services from numerous third-party suppliers, and activation across a plurality of sales channels through one interface,” Walsh said. “With the addition of each new IP service to the platform, we are seeing validation that the cloud coupled with the Shango platform is creating a higher layer of abstraction within the fabric of IP communications. At Shango, we see a new emerging market that enables services providers to both buy and sell their services through one common platform.”

Earlier this year, SimpleSignal migrated back to LogiSense (News - Alert) Corporation’s EngageIP software, TMCnet reported. LogiSense is a provider of converged IP Billing and OSS solutions. Its EngageIP software is a billing and operation support system (OSS) solution.

This Billing/OSS solution is a robust, comprehensive platform that delivers the power and flexibility to manage the dynamic needs of today's service providers.

In 2006, SimpleSignal had deployed LogiSense’s EngageIP Billing and Service Management platform in combination with BroadSoft’s BroadWorks VoIP application platform. The Billing/OSS solution was in place at SimpleSignal from 2006 to 2010 when things were wound down.

After that, SimpleSignal deployed another new platform as an alternative to EngageIP.
