Arador Introduces CloudPatrol Service
May 02, 2014
Fraud and identity theft are growing today and it is not just limited to individual users’ but also to businesses, call centers and their networks and business processes. Not only are hackers gaining access to the sensitive information from the outside, but there have also been cases where an insider has stolen valuable email lists from their employer and set-up a competing online business for example.
To combat such threats, Arador, a company focusing on cloud security solutions, recently rolled out its new service called CloudPatrol, for businesses using SaaS (News - Alert) solutions that store customer data in the cloud. The new CloudPatrol platform signals businesses when theft and misuse of mailing lists and other customer data occurs.
Adam Sculthorpe, Arador's president & CEO said the CloudPatrol service addresses a frequently exploited gap in security existing between SaaS businesses and their customers. He said that the problem isn't always on the client side and incidents also occur on the SaaS business side and in between.
“Moving to the cloud often comes with many benefits that we endorse wholeheartedly but it can also increases security risks significantly,” Sculthorpe added.
CloudPatrol acts as a deterrent at least for preventing insider and contractor abuse. According to the company, CloudPatrol is ideal for marketers who want to know if their customer data has been stolen and misused.
Subscribers receive alerts and detailed reports about who stole their data and how it is being used, this enables the data owner to take legal action and prevent further misuses from occurring.
“CloudPatrol's role as an independent monitoring service ensures businesses get to know when email lists and customer data has been stolen and misused, it's their crown jewels and the data should be protected as such,” Sculthorpe said.
