Chinese IT outsourcing firm hiSoft Technology won recognition as the Leading Enterprise of the Decade for the Software and Information Services Industry last week during the 10th China International Software and Information Service Fair held in Dalian, China.

The award was created to recognize enterprises that have made significant contributions in the past decade to the development of China's software and information services industry, hiSoft said in a news release.

HiSoft, which was founded in 1996, develops a wide range of IT technologies, process innovations and business models for a number of Fortune 500 clients in diverse industries such as financial services, consumer electronics, insurance, telecommunications, manufacturing and healthcare, according to the company. HiSoft employs roughly 7,500 IT professionals in 22 offices in the U.S., Europe, Japan, Singapore and China.

“This award is not only the recognition of all hiSoft employees’ efforts and achievements in the past years, but also the encouragement for us to keep leading the industry in the future,” hiSoft CEO Tiak Koon Loh said in the news release.

The first China-based information technology office to receive Capability Maturity Model Level 5 certification, according to the company, hiSoft is also certified in CMMI-SVC Maturity Level 3, Six Sigma, ISO 27001, ISO 9001:2008, SAS70 and PIPA. hiSoft is the highest ranking Chinese firm in the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) Global Outsourcing 100.

Recently, hiSoft announced a strategic cooperation agreement with IAOP to become the exclusively licensed training provider of IAOP’s Certified Outsourcing Professional training in China, including Taiwan and Macau.

“We were extremely impressed with how quickly the team was able to integrate with our internal teams and efficiently begin working together without missing a step,” noted Judy Furnari, VP of Information Services, Mitsubishi (News - Alert) Motors North America, on hiSoft’s web site. “Their technical leadership was greatly appreciated.”

The award was given at the China International Software & Information Service Fair, which is the only national software fair approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China, according the fair. It is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Liaoning Provincial People's Government.
