Allstream Selects Lavastorm Desktop Professional for CRM System

Canada based all-business communications provider Allstream has said that it’s using the Lavastorm Desktop Professional product to process, organize and clean account data within its customer relationship management (CRM) system.

“Lavastorm Desktop Professional makes it incredibly easy to integrate data natively. Rearranging and interrogating data is easier and, at each step of the way, mistakes can be checked,” said Troy Mayers, sales analytics manager at Allstream.

Lavastorm Desktop Professional is a self-service data analytics product. It has replaced Allstream’s SQL-based approach with a visual analytics method. The Lavastorm’s new approach has enabled Allstream to create and deploy data analytics up to 50 percent faster than with the company’s previous SQL-driven solution.  “Our previous solution couldn’t handle very large amounts of data in some instances, but with Lavastorm we’ve never had an issue with data size,” Mayers said.

Allstream’s has improved the sales teams’ overall data quality and performance, and has enabled stronger communications between data analysts and executives. Company officials said that Lavastorm Desktop Professional’s visual tools have empowered Allstream’s sales operations team to build analytic logic that uncovers and eliminates duplicate account data, and continuously analyzes account data quality to keep sales processes functioning smoothly

Additionally, Allstream is also leveraging Lavastorm Analytics’ software to improve sales strategies and effectiveness. With Lavastorm Desktop Professional, the sales operations team can quickly answer ad-hoc questions about their customer database as they arise, arming their sales team with greater information about customer preferences.

Company officials said that Lavastorm Desktop Professional features a visual interface that reveals data transformation logic in easy to follow graphics, allowing the sales team to collaborate with others, within the organization, who are unfamiliar with coding languages or database contents.

Dario Gasparotto, director of sales business intelligence at Allstream, said that they needed a tool that would not only give them the control to automate key data quality management processes, but would also give the flexibility and speed to be more collaborative and responsive.

“The great benefit of using Lavastorm Desktop Professional is the ability to pull data and create custom analytics much more easily, so when questions come up, the answers are always close at hand,” Gasparotto said.

Earlier in May, Lavastorm Analytics launched the free edition of its Lavastorm Desktop analytic software, delivering agile analytics to business analysts and data professionals.
